Lisbon was the home of a major mining district in the late 1800s and preserved until the late 1900s. Today, the Lisbon mining district is abandoned and inaccessible. The Tuleen Boutique preserves and unlocks a forgotten piece of history in the city. It offers a luxury experience without losing the focus of sustainability.

Design
The delicate jewelry construction of Portuguese jewelry has a great influence on the design of the Tuleen Boutique. Many variations of geometry were extracted from the Tourmaline diamond and used in the creation of the hotel.

It was a main priority to provide a space built with locally sourced, Leed-certified materials. However, the green initiatives of this hotel are not limited to the material and manufacturer selection. Locally sourced produce and recycling are key for the Tuleen restaurant. Window treatments and light control also play a major role in the sustainability of the hotel. Water and energy conservation is another aspect of the Tuleen Boutique.
